Setting up your environment...

There are a few things that you will need to begin the deep dive into iPhone and iPod Touch development world.
  1. A Mac running Leopard (OS X 10.5.3 or later)
  2. Become a registered iPhone/iPod Touch developer. (You can do this by going to the iPhone Developers website.)
  3. The iPhone SDK. (You will be able to download this once you become a registered developer and sign in to your account.)
  4. Xcode, which is Apple's IDE (Integrated Development Environment).
Once you have gathered the required hardware and registered for the Developer program you are ready to start.
